I’m inspired by the way nature weathers and deteriorates objects such as old vehicles left on a farm, how the paint peels off metal and different patina shades presents itself over time. This painting imagines a once-opulent damask wallpaper, weathered over time on the wall of an abandoned mansion. Though the damask design has deteriorated and peeled off the wall, its beauty has transformed into a relic of elegance, like a fragment of history waiting to be unearthed and cherished as timeless art.
